Order Process Engineer

Position Purpose

Order Process Engineer leads the Order Processing team, ensuring that all orders are processed accurately and timeously. Taking responsibility for the engineering and coordination of large and complex orders. Acts as a conduit between sales, engineering, and manufacturing.

Principal Accountabilities

• Monitor, analyse, and report on order processing metrics, identify & propose improvements
• Verify technical accuracy of incoming and change orders
• Validate pricing (standard and special), commissions, and compliance with sales policies
• Compare purchase orders against order forms and implement corrective actions where required
• Manage and coordinate international orders requiring special handling
• Lead and coordinate large or complex projects across multiple stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to Through Put Times (TPTs) and analyse overdue orders
• Collect and analyse technical data related to product improvements and recommend solutions
• Provide technical product support to field sales
• Act as the liaison between field representatives, engineering, and manufacturing on order-related matters
• Develop internal procedures and special unit execution documentation, as well as material for representatives (e.g. RLD / ESB)
• Support customer visits, plant tours, and company presentations
• Lead the OP team by providing direction, training, support, and performance feedback to achieve team and individual objectives

Profile

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Engineering Degree with 5+ years’ experience in a technical environment (mechanical design, design reviews, drawings, BOMs)
• Proven ability to manage conflicting deadlines and collaborate across multiple departments
• Proficient in MS Office
• Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g. Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault)
• ERP system experience advantageous
• Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple detailed projects while maintaining an overall strategic view
• Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
• Effective people leader with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams
• Customer-focused, with open and direct communication skills
• Strong sense of urgency and prioritisation
